Sixteen anglers lined up to fish round two of the series at the AEC’s excellent Mill Pond fishery, and with the numbers fishing, it meant we were able to leave out some of the more challenging pegs. All in all, it was a good match with everyone getting bites and returning some very good weights. Winner on the day was Glen Briggs with 76lbs of mainly carp caught on hard 6ml pellets over loose fed 4mls.

After a slow start on the feeder, Glen switched to maggot over micros at 13m, this yielded 3 bream and 3 skimmers but it was slow going and further switch at around mid match to feeding and fishing hard pellet on the same line proved to be the key, with the carp responding almost immediately to the sound of the loose fed pellets. Runner up on the day was Fred Fairman who was not far behind with 71lbs of mainly carp caught on the method and waggler. Third place went to Doug Read with 55lbs from favoured peg 21. The section winners were Keith Gibson and Alistair Christie, and the specimen was won by Bob Lane with a bream of 4lbs.
